OUR STORY
Rooted in creativity, nature, and story, Undergrowth is a space where art and everyday life meet.
Undergrowth was founded by a mother/daughter duo—Michal Strawbridge and Kai Strawbridge—whose shared love of art and nature shapes everything they create. Together, they bring a blend of experience, perspective, and creative instinct to a space that is both a shop and a gathering place, offering handcrafted goods and workshops designed to inspire connection, creativity, playfulness, and thoughtful living.

Michal
Michal is an artist, forager, maker, and teacher whose work is deeply inspired by nature, poetry, and the beauty found in the overlooked. With a background in fine art and over 20 years of experience teaching and creating, she brings a rich, expressive voice to Undergrowth through painting, workshops, and handcrafted goods. Her approach is both warm and playful, creating space for others to explore creativity in a meaningful and personal way.
Kai
Kai is an illustrator, designer, & dreamer, bringing a thoughtful perspective to Undergrowth and its visual identity. Her work is inspired by the cyclical nature of life, as well as worlds of fantasy. From product design to intricate illustrations, her work helps shape the shop and inspire people to ruminate in the details.
